Boundary layer turbulence in coastal regions differs from that deep ocean because of bottom interactions. In this paper, we focus on the merging surface and boundary layers a finite-depth by numerically solving wave-averaged equations using large eddy simulation method. The fluid is driven combined effects wind stress, wave, steady current presence stable vertical stratification. resulting flow consists two overlapping layers, i.e. separated an interior evolve through three phases, rapid deepening, oscillatory equilibrium prompt merger, transitions. Before internal waves are observed stratified layer, they excited mainly Langmuir layer. These induce clear modulation bottom-generated turbulence, facilitating interaction between layers. After circulations originally confined to found grow size extend down sea (even though do not feel bottom), reminiscent well-organized supercells. full-depth promote mixing enhance shear, leading significant enhancement levels column.
